Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has signalled Tehran's willingness to stop military operations against Israel while denying that an agreement has been reached.
Araghchi has said that Tehran would stop its military response if Israel ceased its attacks by 4 am (0030 GMT) - the first official reaction to US President Donald Trump's earlier claim that Israel and Iran had agreed to a truce.
"As of now, there is NO 'agreement' on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations," Araghchi wrote in a post on platform X early on Tuesday. "However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time,we have no intention to continue our response afterwards," he added.
The Iranian foreign minister added that a final decision on ending Iran's military operations would be made later. Trump earlier said that a "complete and total" ceasefire between Israel and Iran had been reached, adding that the truce would begin
within hours. There was initially no confirmation from the Israeli side of Trump's announced ceasefire between the two arch-enemies.
