CAIRO: Represented by the Office of the Grand Mufti, the Sultanate of Oman on Wednesday participated in the 11th World Conference on Fatwa, held in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. The conference brought together an elite group of thinkers, academics, researchers and experts, along with muftis from different parts of the world.


Oman’s delegation was led by Shaikh Ahmed bin Saud al Siyabi, Secretary-General of the Office of the Sultanate of Oman’s Grand Mufti. This year's conference was titled "Family challenges amid major transformations: A Fatwa approach to protecting the family and preserving its Islamic identity." In a speech at the conference, Al Siyabi spoke about key challenges facing the Muslim family amid the current rapid social, economic and technological developments. He stressed the importance of raising awareness about the rulings of jurisprudence and the consolidation of Islamic values in a manner that contributes to protecting the family, preserving its identity and ensuring its stability.


The Sultanate of Oman's participation in the conference reflects its commitment to engaging in events that deal with religious and intellectual issues, seek to promote dialogue and exchange experiences and perspectives on matters related to the stability of Arab and Islamic societies and families. - ONA
