Al Sharqiyah South, OMIFCO sign social development deals

SUR: Al Sharqiyah South Governorate on Monday signed two agreements worth RO 310,000 with Oman India Fertiliser Company (OMIFCO) to implement development and service projects aimed to realise a tangible economic and social impact and consolidate infrastructure across the wilayats of the governorate.


The two agreements were signed by Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Governor of Al Sharqiyah South, and Eng Khalid bin Mohammed al Fanna, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Communications at OMIFCO.


The first agreement provides for the construction of mountain roads and dykes to the tune of RO 200,000. The project, which aims to boost the readiness of infrastructure and raise safety standards, constitutes an extension of a 2022-2026 joint development programme worth RO 650,000.


The second agreement focuses on providing electrical and electronic appliances, worth RO 110,000, in the interest of low-income families in the wilayats of Sur, Al Kamil W'al Wafi, Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, Jaalan Bani Bu Ali and Masirah. The initiative aims to enhance a 2021-2025 Social Development Programme worth RO 440,000. - ONA
