

SUR: The Municipal Council of Al Sharqiyah South Governorate, during its session convened on Monday, deliberated on a range of developmental topics and projects within the agricultural wealth, fisheries and water sectors across the governorate's wilayats.
The session reviewed a number of operational service investments being implemented in the governorate, with the attendance of specialists from the Directorate-General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in the governorate. Prominent among these were the smart agriculture project, the expansion of fig cultivation, and the integrated agriculture project in the Wilayat of Al Kamil W'al Wafi, in addition to the vegetable and field crop cultivation project, as well as agricultural tourism in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan.
The session, chaired by Juma bin Abdullah al Araimi, Deputy Chairman of the Council, further examined investment opportunities across the governorate's wilayats.
These included the rock oyster farming project in the Wilayat of Masirah and the shrimp farming project in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali.
The discussions also encompassed projects assigned to small and medium enterprises and partnerships with the private sector, such as the development project of Ras Al Hadd Marina and the community partnership project for local poultry farming targeting the rural women's sector in Wad village in the Wilayat of Sur, in addition to a number of initiatives being undertaken in this domain.
The Council additionally hosted officials of Nama Water and Wastewater Services Company in the governorate, during which the efforts exerted, strategic plans, and projects currently underway to enhance developmental services in the governorate's wilayats were presented. - ONA
