MUSCAT: The Oman Youth Basketball League (Under-18) for the 2025-2026 season will conclude Today with the final round of matches set to decide the overall standings and crown the top teams.


Al Amerat will face Nizwa at 5 pm, while Seeb will take on Salalah at 7 pm at the sub-hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. The top three teams will be honoured after the matches as the league reaches its decisive stage amid strong competition among the four participating clubs.


The closing ceremony will be held under the auspices of Sayyid Idris bin Mansour bin Nasser al Busaidy, Director-General of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, in the presence of members of the OBA board and representatives of the participating clubs.

The second round of the finals produced two notable results, with Nizwa defeating Salalah 72-66 and Seeb registering an important 72-47 win over Al Amerat.


Following those results, Seeb moved to the top of the standings with 9 points, ahead of Salalah in second place on 8 points, while Nizwa sits third with 7 points and Al Amerat is fourth with 6 points.


In the first match of the round, Nizwa claimed a valuable 72-66 victory over Salalah in a competitive contest in which it managed to assert its edge across most periods. Adam al Hinai led Nizwa’s scoring with 26 points, followed by Akram al Rashdi with 12 and Al Waleed al Maawali with 11. For Salalah, Qaisar al Balushi scored 19 points, Mohab al Hambasi added 16 and Mishal Kafkaf contributed 9.

Nizwa narrowly took the first quarter 16-15 before extending its lead in the second period, scoring 16 points against Salalah’s 12 to take a 32-27 advantage into halftime. The third quarter ended level at 17 points each, allowing Nizwa to remain in front at 49-44. Both teams continued to trade points in the final quarter, but Nizwa held on to secure the win after scoring 23 points against Salalah’s 22.


SEEB THRASH SALALAH 72-47


In the second match, Seeb controlled proceedings against Al Amerat and won all four quarters through disciplined play and strong focus. Ahmed al Bahlani led Seeb with 29 points, while Abdulrahman al Maamari and Azzan al Ajmi added 12 points each. Mazin al Owaisi was the standout player for Al Amerat with 21 points.


Seeb led the first quarter 20-16 and widened the gap in the second after scoring 19 points compared with 13 for Al Amerat to take a 39-29 half-time lead. It continued to dominate in the third quarter, adding 19 points while limiting Al Amerat to just 7, to move ahead 58-36. Seeb maintained its superiority in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 points against 11, to complete a convincing 72-47 victory.
