Muscat: The secondary hall at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher hosted the fifth week of the 2025–2026 Junior Basketball League, which saw Nizwa defeat Seeb 75–53, Al Amerat overcome Qurayat 74–21, while Masirah won their match against Saham (20–0) after the latter withdrew.

Nizwa continued their impressive form in the league after securing a well-deserved 75–53 victory over Seeb in an exciting matchup, during which both teams displayed solid performances, particularly in the second half.

Nizwa started strong, leading 20–11 after the first quarter. The team maintained its dominance in the second quarter thanks to disciplined defence and accurate long-range shooting, finishing the first half with a comfortable 45–23 lead.

In the third quarter, Nizwa kept their strong momentum despite Seeb’s attempts to narrow the gap. Seeb applied fast offensive pressure, but Nizwa’s organised defence prevented any real comeback, ending the third quarter 58–35 in Nizwa’s favour.

In the final quarter, Seeb tried to get back into the game through counterattacks and three-point shots, yet the experience and skill of Nizwa’s players proved decisive as they maintained control until the final whistle.

Nizwa’s victory was led by Al Mulhim al Obaidani, who scored 23 points, Adam al Hinai, who added 22 points with smart movements under the rim, and Elyas al Obaidani, who contributed 7 points. For Seeb, Khalid al Mughairi stood out with 15 points, followed by Danil al Balushi (10 points) and Hamed al Nadabi (8 points).

The match was officiated by Taha al Amri as the first referee and Al Mahdi al Alawi as the second referee.

Al Amerat started aggressively, scoring 16 points in the opening quarter to Qurayat’s 9. They extended the lead in the second quarter, adding 20 points against Qurayat’s 5, ending the first half 36–14. Their dominance continued in the third quarter (19–5), pushing the score to 55–19.
