Nizwa and Seeb win in the Junior Basketball League

Nizwa and Seeb continued their strong form in the Junior Basketball League for the 2025–2026 season, with the former securing a valuable 58–44 victory over Masirah, while Seeb dominated Saham 60–19. Both matches were played at the secondary sports hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.


NIZWA CONTROL THE GAME TO BEAT MASIRAH


In the opening match, Nizwa delivered a powerful performance, showing early readiness by controlling the first quarter, which they ended leading 12–7 thanks to solid defensive organisation and quick offensive transitions. Their dominance continued in the second quarter with varied attacks and high offensive pressure, adding 21 points against Masirah’s 9 to finish the first half comfortably ahead 33–16.


Masirah attempted a comeback in the third quarter, narrowing the gap by scoring 16 points while Nizwa added 14, ending the period at 46–30. The final quarter saw Masirah maintain its momentum, scoring 14 points to Nizwa’s 12. However, the large first-half advantage allowed Nizwa to secure the win 58–44 after an exciting contest marked by alternating momentum.


Nizwa’s standout performer was Al Mulham al Obaidani, who scored 25 points, while Neil Al Idki added 16 points, and Adam al Hinai contributed 7 points. For Masirah, Rashid al Isaai led the scoring with 17 points, supported by Saddam al Shezawi with 10 points, and Abdulrahim al Rashid with 7 points.


The match was officiated by referees Taher al Amri (first referee) and Thabit al Hinai (second referee), with Salem al Hadeedi, Salem al Ghilani, and Jamal al Hilali handling table duties.

SEEB DOMINATE SAHAM


In the second match, Seeb demonstrated clear superiority, earning a convincing 60–19 win after controlling all four quarters of the game.


Seeb started strongly, setting the tone with a fast attacking pace and firm defensive pressure, closing the first quarter ahead 18–4. Their impressive performance continued in the second quarter, adding 12 points while Saham managed just 7, ending the half 30–11 in Seeb’s favour.


Seeb maintained their strong rhythm in the third quarter, scoring 11 points against Saham’s 4 to extend the lead to 41–15. The fourth quarter followed the same pattern, with Seeb adding 19 more points, while Saham only scored 4, sealing a comprehensive 60–19 victory.


Seeb’s top scorers were Ahmed al Maskari and Saif al Mughairi, both with 14 points, while Danil al Balushi impressed with 12 points. For Saham, Rashid al Jabri scored 5 points, and Azzam al Rashdi added 4 points.


The match was officiated by Al Mahdi al Alawi (first referee) and Hussein al Awamri (second referee), with table officials Jumaa al Hinai, Salem al Hadeedi, and Mahmood al Ajmi.
