Oman Club officially booked their place in the final of the First Division Handball League for the 2025-26 season, scheduled for March 15, after claiming a hard-fought 26-25 victory over Muscat Club in Round Four of the final stage. The match was played at the main hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.

With this win, Oman Club raised their tally to 8 points at the top of the standings with two rounds remaining, confirming qualification for the final without depending on other results. The team continued to demonstrate strong defensive organisation and attacking efficiency as they aim to retain their league title.

Seeb boosted their chances by defeating Nizwa 32-30.

The clash against Muscat was intense and evenly contested from the outset. Muscat finished the first half ahead 15-14 after an energetic attacking display and disciplined defence. However, Oman’s experience and composure proved decisive in the second half. The match remained tightly balanced until the closing seconds, when Oman Club edged ahead to seal a dramatic 26-25 victory.

MUSCAT, SEEB LEVEL ON 4 POINTS

Meanwhile, the race for the second qualification spot has intensified, with Muscat and Seeb level on four points each. The two sides are set to meet in a decisive playoff on March 12 to determine the second finalist. The encounter is expected to be highly competitive given the narrow gap in quality and shared ambition to reach the final.

Seeb boosted their chances by defeating Nizwa 32-30 in another match at the same venue. Seeb led 19-15 at half-time, while Nizwa improved in the second half and narrowed the gap but fell short of claiming their first win of the second stage.

Following their fourth consecutive defeat, Nizwa have officially been eliminated from the qualification race, remaining without points. Their remaining fixtures will serve as an opportunity to restore pride and conclude their campaign on a positive note.
