The second round of the Oman Handball First Division League for the 2025/2026 season resumes today (Friday), with two matches scheduled, the round marks the first official appearance this season for both Oman Club, the defending champion and Salalah Club, returning to the competition.


In the opening fixture, Salalah faces Al Shabab at the sports hall of Al Seeb Club, Salalah enters the league after being exempt from the first round, allowing the technical staff ample time to analyse opponents and prepare thoroughly for the campaign, the team hopes for a strong start that secures its first two points and boosts confidence following its participation as a replacement for Ahli Sidab and Sohar, who withdrew from this season’s competitions.


Meanwhile, Al Shabab aims to recover from its narrow 27–25 defeat to Muscat in the opening round, the team is fully aware of the challenge posed by Salalah but relies on its players’ experience and ability to perform under pressure to return with a positive result.


The spotlight will also be on the key match of the round, as Oman Club visits Nizwa at the Nizwa Sports Complex, The defending champion begins its campaign today after resting in the first round, following a strong preparation phase that saw the club reinforce its roster with notable local and foreign signings, Oman Club is determined to maintain its dominance and move toward securing its fifth consecutive league title, alongside preparing for international commitments next year.


On the other side, Nizwa enters the clash with high morale after a thrilling 25–24 victory over Majees in the opening round, a match decided in the final seconds, with the support of home fans, Nizwa hopes to deliver a competitive performance and possibly achieve a second consecutive win, despite acknowledging the technical and experience gap in favour of the titleholders.


League action continues tomorrow, Saturday, with three matches in the third round, Salalah vs Nizwa at Al Seeb Club Hall, followed by Saham vs Muscat at Sohar Sports Complex, while Majees will play against Al Seeb on the same court.
