MUSCAT: The Central Bank of Oman (CBO) announced the issuance of two commemorative coins in gold and silver to commemorate the 280th anniversary of the Al Busaid Dynasty (1744-2024 AD). This occasion marks a milestone in the history of the Sultanate of Oman, reflecting the depth of its political stability, attributed to the wise leadership of Al Busaid rulers and their role in consolidating the foundations of the state and building its renaissance.

The coins feature a unique design that reflects national identity. The obverse depicts a coloured image of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan's Tughra, Al Alam Palace, and the Jalali and Mirani Forts.
