MUSCAT, OCT 14

The Oman Youth Indoor Handball League will resume on Friday with three matches in the third stage of the 2026-27 season, as clubs look to build momentum, strengthen their positions in the standings and improve their chances of reaching the second round.

With the competition progressing through its early stages, the upcoming fixtures offer teams an opportunity to assess their form, develop consistency and give their young players valuable competitive experience. Every result could prove important as the clubs seek to establish themselves in their respective groups.

In Group One, Al Khabourah will host Oman Club at 4 pm at the Al Khabourah Sports Hall. Both sides will be looking for a positive result to strengthen their campaigns and maintain their hopes of progressing in the competition.

Muscat made an impressive statement in the previous round, recording a commanding 51-22 victory over Al Khabourah. The result highlighted Muscat's attacking strength and gave the team a strong start to its league campaign.

The scheduled Group One match between Muscat and Al Orouba, which was due to take place at the Sur Sports Complex hall on Friday, has been postponed until further notice by the competitions committee.

Group Two will feature two matches at the Seeb Sports Hall. Al Ittihad will face Nizwa at 4 pm before hosts Seeb take on Al Amerat at 6 pm.

The fixtures present an important opportunity for the participating teams to collect points and improve their standings. With the league still in its early stages, consistent performances will be essential for clubs hoping to remain in contention for qualification.

Seeb will enter the match against Al Amerat encouraged by their 24-16 victory over Al Ittihad in the second round. The result gives Seeb a positive platform ahead of Friday's encounter, while Al Ittihad will aim to respond against Nizwa and return to winning ways.

FOUR MATCHES ON SATURDAY

The league programme continues on Saturday with four matches in the fourth round, featuring two fixtures in each group.

In Group One, Muscat will meet Oman Club at 4 pm at the Oman Club Sports Hall, while Al Khabourah will host Saham at the same time. Both matches will provide the teams with another opportunity to strengthen their positions and build momentum for the coming rounds.

In Group Two, Seeb will welcome Nizwa at 4 pm at the Seeb Sports Hall, followed by the meeting between Al Ittihad and Masirah at 6 pm at the same venue.

The busy weekend schedule is expected to test the teams' consistency and ability to recover between matches. Securing points at this stage could help clubs establish a stronger position as the competition develops.

Beyond the results, the league remains an important platform for developing young handball players, allowing them to gain match experience, improve their technical and physical abilities and compete at a higher level. The coming fixtures will therefore be significant not only for the standings but also for the continued development of the next generation of Omani handball talent.
