KHASAB: The completion rate of the Sultan Faisal bin Turki Road project (Dibba-Lima-Khasab) in the Governorate of Musandam has reached approximately 76 per cent.

The project, valued at RO 151 million, being executed by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, is among the strategic infrastructure initiatives aimed at enhancing the road network and strengthening connectivity between the governorate's wilayats.

The road extends over a total length of 72 kilometres and comprises three segments. The first segment runs from the Wilayat of Khasab to Lima area, covering a distance of 20 kilometres. The second segment extends within Lima for 8 kilometres, while the third segment connects Lima to the Wilayat of Dibba over a length of 44 kilometres.

The journey between Khasab and Dibba is expected to take approximately 55 minutes, while the trip between Lima and Khasab is projected at around 20 minutes, compared to the previous travel time of approximately two and a half hours.

Upon completion, the road is expected to enhance interconnectivity across the various regions of the Governorate of Musandam, facilitate smoother traffic flow, and contribute to the revitalisation of economic and tourism activity, while bolstering investment and development opportunities in the communities it serves. - ONA
