Muscat: Muscat Municipality has urged the public to refrain from installing unlicensed speed bumps, stressing that such measures must meet approved safety and technical requirements.

The municipality said speed bumps must comply with officially approved dimensions and technical specifications. Warning and directional signs should also be installed ahead of the bumps, while reflective paint in approved colours must be used to ensure clear visibility.

The location of each speed bump must be approved after assessing traffic density and the requirements of the area. Installation should also be carried out in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of all road users.

The municipality emphasised that public safety depends on following the proper procedures and avoiding unauthorised installations.
