IBRA: The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority ‘Riyada’ in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, launched the activities of the Future Pioneers Camp 2026 at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Ibra, Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, with the participation of 100 students from grades seven, eight and nine.
The camp, which runs until July 16, forms part of a series of summer camps organised by ‘Riyada’ across several governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, aimed at promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among young people while enhancing their readiness for future skills.
The five-day camp focuses on cultivating entrepreneurial and innovative thinking among participants, familiarising them with the fundamentals of start-up establishment, and empowering them to transform their ideas into viable projects through intensive training workshops and interactive activities that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application.
The programme encompasses a diverse range of thematic areas designed to build personal and leadership skills, reinforce the values of teamwork and develop problem-solving and innovation capabilities. Participants are also introduced to mechanisms for developing ideas and converting them into future opportunities and projects.
The camp is delivered by a number of trainers and specialists in the field of entrepreneurship, providing a stimulating learning environment that enables students to discover their abilities and refine their entrepreneurial skills at an early age.
The Future Pioneers Camp 2026 represents one of the national initiatives implemented by ‘Riyada’ to instil a culture of self-employment and innovation among emerging generations, in alignment with the strategic objectives of Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to prepare an empowered generation capable of contributing to the building of a national economy founded on knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship. - ONA
