An Omani HR veteran has authored a book on the best HR practices and to give insights into how life’s purpose is shaped by the delicate interplay between our established, planned aspirations and the unexpected discoveries we make along the way recently.

Titled ‘How HR Rewrote Me’, which is often referenced as ‘How HR Rewrote One’ in leadership and management discussions, authored by Dr Khalid al Hamadani, who is currently the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) at Bank Dhofar, is an attempt to craft a thought-provoking exploration of personal evolution, purpose and the unexpected twists that shape our lives and detailed in plain, natural tone.

“Human resources is the greatest resource that a nation can count on and nurture for the most effective utilisation for future and the book, ‘How HR Rewrote Me’, is by now, termed as a mandate for the HR professionals in the country to become better HR professionals”, the author said.

The book, published by Luban Establishment for Publishing, is the culmination of the author’s decades of experience in management and strategic human resources to provide a dual perspective on transformation, the organisational and the deeply personal experiences that he had to face during the long career path.

What makes this book especially valuable is that it is not only written from theory, but from lived leadership experience, with practical insights and examples grounded in the GCC context and the author has succeeded in seamlessly transitioning between professional coaching and philosophical reflection.

Dr Khalid, a seasoned Human Resources Professional with 30 years of experience in the Banking & Financial Services domain and Royal Oman Police (ROP) championed the idea that embracing the excitement of new discoveries helps us craft a distinctive and meaningful path forward.

Dr Khalid, who possesses Doctorate in Human Resources from the University of Northampton, UK, began his career in 1992 with the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and worked there for 21 years in various leadership roles before joining Bank Muscat in 2013. He spearheaded Human Resources functions in the new organisation and, with his thoughtful leadership, took the department to the next level.

Currently, he is the Chief Human Resources Officer at BankDhofar, leading HR Transformation initiatives and supporting the Bank’s overall objectives and vision.

Readers will find actionable career advice blended with profound life lessons as Dr Al Hamadani has made a sincere effort to leave his audience feeling inspired to choose differently and grow.
