MUSCAT: Bahja, owned by Abdullah al Zuraei, delivered a strong performance with 7 minutes 35.78 seconds, while Al Baher, owned by Salim al Madhoushi, recorded the fastest time of 7:32.20 on the second day at His Majesty Cup Festival 2026 camel racing in the Wilayat of Barka on Monday. Mashoosh, owned by Hamed al Wahaibi, also stood out with 7:36.92, as the top three winners won cars as prizes.


Maraseem, Ghazar, Bayh and Talaid also claimed victories in their respective rounds, completing the list of seven car-winning camels in a highly competitive contests.


These races were part of His Majesty Cup Festival 2026, supported by The Royal Court Affairs and represented by the Royal Camel Corps (RCC), in cooperation with Oman Camel Racing Federation (OCRF).

The event is being held from March 29 to April 2 at Al Felaij Track in the Wilayat of Barka.


The opening day on Sunday included 32 races for the Hagayeg category, two years old, over a distance of 4 km.


The second day, March 30, featured 22 races for the Laqaya category, three years old, over a distance of 5 km, divided into 15 morning races with cash prizes for the top ten.


Seven main races were hold in the afternoon, offering seven cars and four icons for winners, along with cash prizes.


The third day, March 31, will witness 11 races for the Yathaa category, four years old, over 6 km, including seven morning races with cash prizes. The four evening races will award four cars and four icons, in addition to cash prizes for top finishers.

FESTIVAL VILLAGE OPENS


As part of the accompanying activities of HM’s Cup Festival, the Royal Camel Corps inaugurated the festival village at Al Felaij, under the auspices of Eng Hilal bin Mohammed al Wahaibi, Head of Royal Horses, Camels, Farms and Gardens Affairs.


The village features a range of cultural and heritage activities, with participation from 47 entities, including government units, SMEs and productive families, offering diverse experiences for visitors throughout the festival period until April 2.
