HAIMA: Al Wusta Governorate is strengthening its position along the path of government digital transformation through a range of strategic initiatives and projects that have contributed to service development, enhanced institutional performance efficiency, and streamlined procedures for beneficiaries, in line with the objectives of the National Government Digital Transformation Programme.

Dr Hashim bin Khamis al Balushi, Head of the Digital Transformation Team in Al Wusta Governorate, stated that 1,034 government digital transactions were completed during the period from January to December 2025, and nine new services were digitised on the governorate's digital portal — a step aimed at developing institutional performance and enhancing operational efficiency.

In a statement to Oman News Agency, he added that the governorate also launched a digital educational platform to develop technical skills for employees and beneficiaries, as well as a project monitoring platform to improve oversight accuracy across implementation stages. This was accompanied by the adoption of open-source software to foster innovation and provide sustainable technical solutions.

Dr Al Balushi noted that Al Wusta Governorate witnessed a series of achievements during 2025 that lay the foundation for comprehensive digital transformation.

These included upgrading core digital infrastructure to ensure continuity and efficiency; deploying drone technology to enable intelligent project monitoring and data analysis; launching a promising innovation management system within the governorate to enhance creativity and stimulate initiatives; and utilising modern technologies such as 3D building printing to construct a traveller service station along Adam–Salalah road, which features a prayer hall, cafés, and other amenities to ensure traveller comfort.

These accomplishments reflect an advanced level of commitment by Al Wusta Governorate to transitioning toward an integrated digital ecosystem focused on raising operational efficiency and delivering a seamless, effective experience for beneficiaries, while embedding a culture of continuous improvement and adopting modern digital solutions in government operations management. — ONA
