MUSCAT: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, represented by the Food Safety and Quality Centre, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Nama Water Services Company to strengthen cooperation frameworks and exchange expertise in areas of mutual interest, contributing to the monitoring of drinking water quality in the Sultanate of Oman.


The memorandum seeks to enhance scientific research in the water sector, monitor potential pollutants and develop innovative solutions to elevate water quality. It further aims to support scientific activities and raise community awareness, stemming from the commitment of both entities to support national efforts directed at achieving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life.


The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Food Safety and Quality Centre by Dr Intisar bint Salem al Ghareebi, Acting Director-General of the Centre, and on behalf of the company by Ahmed bin Rashid al Khamisi, Head of the Business Assurance and Excellence Unit.


The signing reflects the commitment of both parties to enhancing institutional integration and unifying efforts to support the drinking water quality monitoring system, consolidate the foundations of sustainable cooperation and contribute to the development of the water sector in the Sultanate of Oman in accordance with best practices. - ONA
