MUSCAT: Karwa Motors has issued a clarification regarding a video circulating on social media containing allegations about the company’s school buses, including claims of excessive diesel consumption.
In response, the company emphasised its commitment to professional and social responsibility, explaining that Karwa school buses are built with a highly durable, integrated steel structure that ensures maximum passenger protection and prevents collapse in the event of accidents. The buses are also equipped with a central air conditioning system mounted on the roof to provide optimal ventilation and comfort.
Karwa Motors noted that while the robust safety frame and integrated air conditioning system may result in slightly higher fuel consumption compared to lighter buses, these features are essential for safety and comfort.
Addressing concerns about tightly sealed windows, the company clarified that this is an internationally approved safety standard designed to protect students from external objects, side collisions, or accidental falls. All Karwa school buses comply with international ventilation standards (ASHRAE) and are equipped with an integrated air conditioning system, continuous internal air circulation and emergency roof vents.
The company added that opening bus windows, as suggested in the viral video, is not a healthy or safe alternative and often reflects cost-cutting practices that compromise student safety and well-being.
Designed in line with the highest international safety and quality benchmarks, Karwa school buses feature advanced braking and emergency response systems, ergonomic seating and real-time tracking technology. These features ensure a safe, reliable and comfortable travel experience for students across Oman’s varying climates.
Karwa Motors reaffirmed its commitment to continuous improvement in the school transportation sector, investing in technology, safety enhancements, and sustainable practices aimed at reducing the carbon footprint while meeting the growing needs of schools and students.
