Muscat: The Directorate General of Police in Muscat Governorate has arrested an Asian national who fled the scene after being involved in a run-over incident that left a young girl with moderate injuries.

According to the Royal Oman Police (ROP), the suspect was apprehended shortly after the incident, following swift investigations and field operations carried out by the competent authorities.

The accident occurred when the driver struck the child and left the scene without providing assistance or reporting the incident. The injured girl was transferred to a medical facility, where she received treatment for moderate injuries.

Legal procedures are currently being completed against the suspect in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
