Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested an Asian national in the South Al Batinah Governorate for collaborating with an international gang involved in smuggling narcotics into the Sultanate.

According to the Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, the suspect was placed under surveillance while driving his vehicle before being apprehended. The arrest came as part of ongoing operations to dismantle cross-border drug trafficking networks.

The individual was found in possession of large quantities of crystal meth, marijuana, morphine, and psychotropic tablets, which he allegedly intended to distribute in various locations across the country.

The ROP confirmed that legal proceedings are underway against the suspect and reiterated its commitment to combating drug-related crimes and protecting society from their harmful effects.
