MUSCAT: The Medical City for Military and Security Services on Monday organised an international conference on the use of technology and innovation in the health sector, known as “ICTIH 2026”.


The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Sayyid Dr Sultan bin Yarub al Busaidy, Adviser at the Private Office, and attended by ministers, senior government officials, military commanders, senior officers and specialists.


The conference, held in Muscat Governorate, offered an opportunity to review the latest global innovations in the health sector’s digital transition, artificial intelligence (AI), smart systems, operational efficiency, human resource development and the extent to which these elements could together contribute to achieving higher quality, sustainability and the establishment of a more patient-oriented healthcare system.


The conference focuses on how partnerships between the public and private sectors, academic institutions and global companies could help develop health services, support innovation and transfer knowledge in line with "Oman Vision 2040", notably the vision’s goal of building a knowledge economy and building an advanced health sector.


The conference included dialogue sessions, panel discussions, specialised workshops and an exhibition showcasing modern health technologies and the latest digital and operational solutions that reshape the future of hospitals and healthcare around the world.


The event saw the participation of health leaders, decision-makers, international experts, global technology companies, researchers and academics from the Sultanate of Oman and abroad. — ONA
