MUSCAT: More than 600,000 visitors from around the world have visited the Muscat Nights venues since the event began two weeks ago. This diverse group includes nationalities from countries such as India, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Türkiye and Tanzania. This suggests a strong interest from visitors in the Arab world, Asia, especially South Asia, in addition to the general influx of winter tourists enjoying Oman's mild climate and cultural events like food, crafts and performances, according to the Muscat Municipality, the key organisers of the event.

"There has been an increasing demand for Muscat Nights festivities from both local and international markets and some regions, resulting in the number of visitors rising to more than 600,000 in the first two weeks," a source from the Muscat Municipality said.

The main venues of Muscat Nights, including Al Qurum Natural Park, Al Amerat Public Park, the Oman Automobile Association, the Royal Opera House Muscat, Al Seeb Beach (Sur Al Hadid), Qurayat and Wadi Al Khoudh, have been reporting heavy turnout every day from 4 pm to 11 pm, with an increasing number on weekends.

In addition to these venues, several shopping malls have partnered with the Muscat Municipality to promote the month-long festival of global traditions and cultures, showcasing Omani traditional life and culinary delights to the world.

The previous edition of Muscat Nights attracted nearly 1.7 million visitors of different nationalities over 41 days and successfully positioned itself as a major winter tourism event.

Muscat Nights also attracted a broad international mix, including Europeans, North Americans, and other global travellers seeking cultural experiences and pleasant weather. The Global Village, part of the annual festival, featured country-specific stalls promoting art, food, crafts, appealing to diverse cultures alongside a blend of traditional Omani culture and international flair, which is unique in the Gulf.
