

General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, will pay an official two-day visit to the Sultanate of Oman from Tuesday.
A statement to this effect was issued by the Diwan of Royal Court, reading as follows: "In a manifestation of the distinguished fraternal relations binding the Sultanate of Oman and the Lebanese Republic, General Joseph Aoun, President of the Lebanese Republic, will pay an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 9-10. The visit comes within the context of enhancing the joint cooperation between Oman and Lebanon in a manner that achieves further progress and prosperity to serve the common interests of the two countries and meet their aspirations.
"During the visit, the two leaderships will exchange views on several matters that promote the joint Arab action, in addition to discussing a set of regional and international developments.
"May the Almighty Allah grant the two countries’ leaderships success to realise further progress and welfare for their peoples and the Arab nation!"
The Sultanate of Oman and the Lebanese Republic are keen to enhance bilateral cooperation in various political, security, economic, and cultural fields, paving the way for building a new stage of strategic and economic partnership between the two countries.
The upcoming official visit of President General Joseph Aoun to Oman and his meeting with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik hold special importance in affirming the keenness of the two countries’ leaderships on promoting the bilateral relations and pushing them towards wider horizons.
The relations between Oman and Lebanon have been distinguished, since the opening of Oman's first embassy in Beirut in 1972, by their strength and robustness, rooted in Arab and historical ties.
Two countries pay great attention to enhancing political and economic partnerships with Arab nations in terms of sustainable development and economic integration, as outlined in Oman Vision 2040 which focuses on strengthening partnerships with Arab countries. SEE ALSO P4
