Wodouh, owned by Saud bin Ali al Darai, captured victory in the opening main round of the Hagayeg category over 3 km. Injaz, owned by Mohammed bin Sultan al Darai, secured first place in the main round of the Lagaya category over 4 km, while Waqaar, owned by Sami bin al Hamdi al Darai, dominated the main round of the Elythaa category over 5 km.

The event was organised by Oman Camel Racing Federation (OCRF) in cooperation with Occidental Oman at Seih Al Sariya track in the Wilayat of Adam, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, on Thursday.

The competitions began with eight rounds in the Hagayeg category, two year old, over a distance of 3 km. Followed by four rounds in the Lagaya category, three year old, contested over 4 km. The day’s programme concluded with two rounds in the Elythaa category, four year old, over a distance of 5 km.

The supported camel racing programme for the 2025–2026 season has already witnessed three successful events, beginning with the Shell’s race in Al Wusta Governorate on October 9, followed by another Shell-supported race in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate on October 22 and the Occidental-backed race in Al Dhahirah Governorate on November 12.

The schedule continues with upcoming events, starting with the Occidental-supported race in Al Wusta Governorate on December 10, followed by Shell’s race in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate on January 8, 2026.

FIFTH RACE OF SEASON

The OCRF in cooperation with Royal Camel Corps (RCC) will organise the fifth race of the annual camel season from December 21 to 25.

The Royal Camel Corps recently announced that RCC would purchase the winning camel with the best timing from some Hagayeg, Lagaya and Elythaa categories.

In addition, RCC considers the fifth race as the second qualifying race for the final race, HM’s Cup, which will be held in April 2026, while the winning camel in main rounds will qualify for the final.

The RCC continues to support camel owners, as announced by the purchase of selected camels from the camel beauty competition, which will be held from December 14 to 18 at Al Felaij under the organisation of the Oman Camel Racing Federation.
