MUSCAT, NOV 2
Momentum and excitement continued to build in Oman’s camel racing season with the launch of the fourth event of the 2025–26 camel racing season on Saturday in the Wilayat of Barka in Al Batinah South Governorate and the Wilayat of Adam in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The event drew top camel owners and competitors from across the Sultanate of Oman.
The ongoing season, organised by the Oman Camel Racing Federation (OCRF), has already featured three major events earlier this year. The first event took place from September 20 to 21 in the Wilayat of Barka, the Wilayat of Adam, and the Wilayat of Sinaw, followed by the second event from October 4 to 5 at the same venues. The third event, which combined competitive races, Mazayna, and Milking competitions, was held from October 17 to 23, adding diversity and cultural richness to the season’s calendar.
The opening day on Saturday witnessed strong competitions in the Hagayeg category, two year old, over a distance of 3 km. A total of 18 rounds were held at Al Felaij Track and an equal number at Al Bashayer Track, in addition to three rounds of the traditional race (human rider) at Al Felaij Track in Wilayat of Barka, contested over a 2 km distance.

The competitions will continue on Monday, the third and final day, featuring races for the Elythaa category, four year old, over a distance of 5 km, with six rounds at Al Felaij Track and an equal number at Al Bashayer Track.
