Under the auspices of Nasr bin Hamoud al Kindi, Secretary-General of the Royal Court Affairs (RCA), the Royal Court Affairs Security Unit were crowned champions of the 14th Royal Court Affairs Football Championship for the eighth time in Muscat.
Royal Court Affairs Stadium in Al Khoudh hosted the final match, the Security Unit defeated the Royal Cavalry team 2–0 to secure the title.
The closing ceremony featured a patriotic musical performance by artist Ayman al Nasser, along with aerial displays presented by the Muscat Remote-Control Aircraft team.
Ahmed al Niyadi of the Royal Court Affairs Security Unit was named best player of the tournament. The top-scorer award went to Muhannad al Amri of the Royal Camel Corps with six goals, while Mohammed al Maamari of the Royal Court Affairs Security Unit received the best goalkeeper award. The General Directorate of Supplies earned the fair play team award.
Dr Salim bin Abdullah al Abidly, Director-General of Human Resources and Chairman of the Sports Affairs Committee, said: “The annual championship continues its mission of promoting organised sporting activity and enhancing communication among employees and officials.”
He added: “The competition contributes to developing players’ skills, improving fitness levels, fostering teamwork, and identifying talent capable of strengthening the Royal Court Affairs team in inter-institutional tournaments.”
Mohammed al Saadi, Assistant Coach of the Royal Court Affairs Security Unit, said: "The team’s return to the podium after 2017 was the result of collective effort from the technical staff, administration and players. He noted that the competition was tough throughout, and the final against the Royal Cavalry proved particularly challenging due to the strength and quality of their squad."
The Royal Cavalry team qualified from Group 3 with six points from two wins and a loss. They advanced through the quarterfinals by defeating the General Directorate of Supplies 1–0, before overcoming the General Directorate of Human Resources with the same score in the semifinals.
The Royal Court Affairs Security Unit extend their lead in the all-time winners’ list, securing its eighth title after previous triumphs in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2017. They are followed by the General Directorate of Transport with four titles (2016, 2018, 2019 and 2024). The Royal Yachts team won once in 2011, while the Royal Camel Corps claimed the 2015 title.
