Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested three individuals of Asian nationality in the Wilayat of Quriyat after they attempted to retrieve large quantities of drugs that had been concealed along a beach.

According to the Directorate General for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, the arrests followed two detection and surveillance operations involving suspects travelling from Al Buraimi Governorate. The individuals were detained while collecting packages containing crystal meth and hashish that had been smuggled into the country.

Investigations revealed that the suspects had coordinated with an international drug network operating outside Oman to smuggle the substances and hide them along the shoreline for later collection.

The ROP stated that legal procedures are underway, and the case is being referred to the competent authorities.
