

MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP), represented by the Coast Guard Police Command, in cooperation with the Directorate-General for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, seized a smuggling boat coming from Iran.
The boat was tracked by the Coast Guard Police (CGP) and was seized upon entering the Omani territorial waters after the smugglers attempted to evade the CGP vessels.
On board the boat, there were three Pakistani infiltrators who were arrested off the coast of Qurayat. They were in possession of more than 70 kilogrammes of hashish. Legal proceedings are underway against them.
The Coast Guard Police at Dhofar Governorate Police Command, also foiled an attempt to smuggle more than 550 kilogrammes of drugs by three Yemeni nationals who had illegally entered the Omani territorial waters on a fishing boat. Legal proceedings are underway against the defendants.
