YANQUL: The 'Pastel Gallery 2' fine arts exhibition, featuring creative works by fine arts teachers from Al Dhahirah Governorate, was inaugurated today at Bait Al Marah Fort in the Wilayat of Yanqul. Organised by the Directorate General of Education in the governorate, the exhibition will run for seven days.

The display includes 58 pieces, ranging from pastel paintings to decoupage, celebrating educational talent while reflecting the aesthetic and cultural values of Oman.

Majid bin Salim al Ghafri, exhibition supervisor, said the artworks capture the essence of the local environment through heritage and natural elements, highlighting the Omani identity and values of authenticity and national pride. He noted that the exhibition aligns with the governorate’s growing focus on artistic and educational initiatives and underscores the role of fine arts teachers in fostering creativity in schools and the wider community.

The opening ceremony was sponsored by Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed al Busaidy, Wali of Yanqul. — ONA
