Muscat: A Bangladeshi national was killed by falling shrapnel after a drone interception in the United Arab Emirates, the official WAM news agency said on Wednesday.

The competent authorities in the Emirate of Fujairah dealt with an incident that occurred on a farm in the Al-Rifa'a area as a result of falling debris following the successful interception of a drone by air defenses, which resulted in the death of a Bangladeshi national, the media office said in a statement.

It urged the public to obtain information only from official sources and to avoid circulating rumors or unreliable information.
