

MUSCAT: Qurayat and Al Amerat secured important wins in Week Seven of the 2025–2026 Junior Basketball League, in matches played at Al Amal Club Hall in Ghala Heights.
QURAYAT EDGE PAST AL BASHAYER IN A THRILLING CONTEST
Qurayat managed to snatch a valuable 38–34 victory over Al Bashayer after a closely contested game in which both teams exchanged the lead throughout the four quarters. Qurayat’s win came thanks to the outstanding performance of Saeed Hussain, who delivered an exceptional game and scored 20 points, playing the biggest role in guiding his team to victory. He was supported by Mohammed al Ghazali, who added 7 points, while Tamim al Hadi contributed 6 points.
On the other side, Asid al Khasibi was the standout performer for Al Bashayer, carrying the team offensively and scoring 26 points despite the loss.
The match began with clear dominance from Al Bashayer, who closed the first quarter ahead 8–6, capitalising on several offensive opportunities. In the second quarter, Al Bashayer maintained their slight advantage by scoring 12 points compared to Qurayat’s 11, ending the first half leading 20–17.
The third quarter marked the turning point of the game, as Qurayat overturned the deficit and imposed complete control, scoring 14 points while limiting Al Bashayer to just 3, finishing the period ahead 31–23.
Despite Al Bashayer improving in the fourth quarter and attempting to narrow the gap, Qurayat kept their composure and sealed the match 38–34.
AL AMERAT DOMINATE SALALAH WITH A BIG WIN
In the second match, Al Amerat asserted total control over their encounter against Salalah, earning a commanding 89–40 victory after a strong offensive and defensive performance across all quarters.
Al Amerat showcased a powerful offensive display led by Nuh Brink, who scored 23 points and was the most influential player on the court. Sami al Busaidy delivered an impressive performance with 17 points, while Sultan Al Sinani added 13 points, and Ilyas al Junaydi contributed 6 points.
For Salalah, Fahad Bayt Sanjour was the most notable player with 20 points, supported by Murshid Bayt Sanasil, who scored 14 points despite the large score difference.
Al Amerat started strongly, taking the first quarter 18–9, driven by speed and precision in finishing attacks. In the second quarter, Salalah tried to respond and showed improvement, but Al Amerat continued to extend the gap, scoring 20 points compared to Salalah’s 13, ending the first half leading 38–22.
The third quarter saw Al Amerat maintain its dominance, scoring 26 points while Salalah added 15, closing the period at 64–37.
In the fourth quarter, Al Amerat widened the margin significantly, adding 25 points while limiting Salalah to just 3, sealing the match with a decisive 89–40 victory.
