MONTREAL: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), signed three bilateral air transport agreements with the Syrian Arab Republic, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire and the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. The agreements were signed on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Assembly, held in Montreal, Canada.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed with the Arab Republic of Egypt, aimed at enhancing cooperation in civil aviation and expanding operating rights for national airlines.
The agreements and MoU were signed on behalf of Oman by Eng Nayef bin Ali al Abri, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, who emphasised that these initiatives reflect Oman’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its position as a regional logistics hub, in support of national objectives and in furtherance of economic and trade ties with partner states.
He clarified that the bilateral agreements will enhance the overall framework governing air transport relations between Oman and the respective countries, incorporating technical and regulatory provisions as well as detailed schedules of air routes available to carriers operating flights between the parties. - ONA
