Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik held telephone conversations on Sunday with President of Egypt, President of France, and thePrime Minister of the United Kingdom.
The calls discussed the serious escalation between Iran and Israel and the repercussions of the increased frequency of attacks and their devastating impacts on civilian and critical infrastructure in the region.
His Majesty and the leaders exchanged views on the threats such developments pose to the security and stability of the Middle East.
The conversations also covered the recent attacks by the United States on sites in Iran and the resulting escalation and heightened tensions.
During the calls, the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to curb the spiral of violence and prevent the region from descending further into conflict and instability was stressed.
His Majesty underscored the Sultanate of Oman’s consistent stance in support of peace and the protection of regional stability.
