Muscat: Al Nasr's first football team endured a harsh 4-0 defeat against Al Shabab in their rescheduled match from the seventh round of the Omantel League, held at Al Saada Sports Complex.

The match began with balanced play, though Al Shabab had a slight advantage. Early on, Yusuf al Malki threatened Al Nasr's goal with a direct free kick that sailed over the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Mohammed al Ghafri opened the scoring for Al Shabab after a swift counterattack, finishing with a successful shot into the net. Al Nasr tried to respond quickly, and in the 13th minute, their professional player Samuel nearly equalised, but his shot deflected off Al Shabab's defence and went out for a corner.

Al Nasr faced a significant setback in the 30th minute when Abdulmajid Shamas was sent off after a harsh tackle on Mahmoud al Khasibi. Al Shabab capitalised on the numerical advantage, with Hatim al Roushdi scoring the second goal in the 41st minute. Just two minutes later, Mohammed al Ghafri added the third goal in the 43rd minute, before sealing the first half with a fourth goal in stoppage time, ending the half with a commanding 4-0 lead.

Al Shabab maintained dominance in the second half and nearly scored a fifth goal in the 82nd minute with a powerful shot from Hatim al Roushdi that flew over the goal. Al Nasr attempted to reduce the deficit but failed to convert their chances into goals.

With this victory, Al Shabab raised their points tally to 13, climbing to eighth place, while Al Nasr remained at 14 points, dropping to sixth place.

BAHLA EDGE OMAN CLUB

Bahla Club clinched a 1-0 victory over Oman Club at the Seeb Sports Stadium.

Oman Club dominated offensively from the start, pushing to break through Bahla's defence. However, Bahla relied on a defensive strategy and quick counterattacks. In the 15th minute, Abdulsalam al Shukaili nearly scored for Bahla with a powerful shot saved by goalkeeper Abdulaziz al Hasani. On the other side, Faisal al Buraiki missed a clear chance for Oman Club.

In the final minute of the first half, Abdulsalam al Shukaili capitalised on a defensive error to score the winning goal for Bahla. In the second half, Oman Club's coach Mahdi Laouamen made offensive substitutions to chase an equaliser, but neither team managed to score despite the intense competition.

This win boosted Bahla's points to 15, while Oman Club remained at 21 points, suffering their second consecutive defeat.

AL KHABOURAH BEAT SOHAR

Al Khabourah earned a valuable 2-1 victory over neighbouring Sohar in a match at Sohar Sports Complex.

The first half ended in a goalless draw, despite Sohar's dominance through long balls and crosses from Saud al Muqbali and professional player Prince Claude, which failed to breach Al Khabourah's defence. Al Khabourah attempted counterattacks without success. The first half also saw Sohar's Muayad al Abdulsalam injured in the 10th minute, replaced by Ishaq al Muqbali.

In the second half, Al Khabourah broke the deadlock in the 77th minute when professional player Ameer Alaa Kazem exploited a defensive mistake to score. Nooh al Araimi added a second goal in the 92nd minute with an impressive solo effort. Sohar's only goal came from a penalty kick by Mohsen Johar in the 95th minute, but there wasn't enough time to equalise.

This win raised Al Khabourah's tally to 13 points, while Sohar remained at 9 points.
