Muscat: Oman’s Weather Office on Friday issued a heavy rain alert for Musandam, Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah South Al Batinah, Al Dhahira and al Hajar mountain areas with chances of gradually extending towards Muscat area.

• Heavy rainfall expected between 20-60 mm and chances for flash floods.


• Strong downdraft winds with a speed of 15-30 kt


• Poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising
