Muscat: The Earthquake Monitoring Committee (EMC) at the Sultan Qaboos University on Saturday recorded a moderate earthquake in the Sea of Oman with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale at 10 am today.
The epicenter of the earthquake was about 57 km northeast of the city of Sur and at a depth of five kilometers.
