New batch joins Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-Native Speakers

MANAH: The Sultan Qaboos Institute for Teaching Arabic Language to Non-Native Speakers received a new batch of students, on Monday.


The new batch comprises 36 students from the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center (SQCC) in Washington, the Omani British Friendship Association and the Republic of Hungary.

The new students were introduced to the teaching staff, administrators and supervisors after which they were taken on a tour around the institute’s facilities where they were acquainted with the services provided at the institute and watched a visual display about the Sultanate of Oman and its civilization, culture and history.


The visual display also included general tips and instructions that help the students integrate and communicate directly with the local community through trips, visits and various events. In addition to studying the Arabic language, the student programme includes various events, lectures, cultural evenings, educational trips to historical and natural places as well Arabic calligraphy classes, technical workshops and language partner programme.

The course lasts for eight weeks with 160 hours of study in the skills of Arabic language. — ONA
