Jaalan Bani Bu Ali tops traditional horse sports competition

The Oman Equestrian Federation announced the results of the traditional horse sports competition for the 2022/2023 season, where Jaalan Bani Bu Ali snatched the title among number of wilayats from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

These governorates competed to hold this competition through organised and implemented the Oman Equestrian’s rules in traditional competition.

The results of the competition were close in terms of points, as the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali won the first place, while the Wilayat of Bahla achieved the runner-up position, and the Wilayat of Al Kamil W’al Wafi came in the third place.

These competitions have received wide public attention, and such competitions are an opportunity to introduce them in importance and wide spread, in addition to being one of the most important sports activities practiced by many of Omani.

This is what distinguishes it from other countries interested in horses, as unique in its own way in the way performs since ancient times, as it is one of the immortal heritages that characterises the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to registering horses in the name of the Sultanate of Oman in the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of human in Unesco since 2018.

On the other side Oman Equestrian Federation( OEF) all set to organise the endurance competition in Dhofar Governorate during khareef season. recently OEF in cooperation with the Dhofar Equestrian Committee qualified 18 horses for endurance competition, at Khor Al Dahariz Beach in Salalah.

The qualified race was included one stage for a distance of 40 km, in the presence of Ahmed bin Saif al Abri, Secretary-General of the Federation. Where 18 horses were passed successful and 4 horses were excluded from the race for not passing the veterinary examination.

Ahmed bin Saif al Abri, Secretary-General of the Oman Equestrian Federation, said “The qualifying race is held in cooperation with the Dhofar Equestrian Committee, where great efforts have been made by the Oman Equestrian Federation to prepare the tracks for the qualifying race, and there is a great awakening of citizens who own horses, trainers and riders to deal with horses to pass this race”.
