Clubs competition for cultural creativity concludes

NIZWA: The Department of Culture, Sports and Youth in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, represented by the Cultural Creations Team, recently celebrated the conclusion of the cultural creativity competition of the clubs involving Al Dakhiliyah and Al Wusta governorates for the year 2022-2023 at the Nizwa Cultural Centre.


The ceremony was under the auspices of Ahmed bin Salim bin Shams al Hajri, Director General of Nizwa Industrial City (Madayn), in the presence of Ahmed bin Mohammed al Harrasi, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Youth in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The celebration was also attended by general directors, departments of government agencies, and club youth committees.


The ceremony began with an introduction by Afnan bint Khalfan bin Masoud al Mayahiyah. She spoke about the programme and its importance to various groups of society.


The ministry seeks to activate the cultural role of clubs through a set of programmes and activities that touch the aspirations of young people.


These activities help build knowledge and develop creative skills.


Mohammed bin Hamiar al Rashdi, head of the work team, explained the importance of the competition for the target age groups. The activities were divided into 10 fields from cultural, literary, technical, innovation, and performing, to visual arts.


Al Rashdi also talked about the stages of the competition, which passes through three main stages at the level of the club, then the governorate, and the Sultanate of Oman.


The head of the work team also mentioned that the number of participants in the governorate reached 1,671 male and female participants.


A short video was shown on how the competitions are implemented at the club and governorate levels. Which gave a wonderful impression of the efforts made and the talents involved in various fields.


Poet Hamad al Mazrouei, who won first place at the governorate level, presented a poem, while Al Munther al Khasibi, winner of the interior and central governorates, provided sports commentary. A chanting and musical performance followed.


The Director General of Nizwa Industrial City (Madayn) honoured the winners at the level of Al Dakhiliyah and Al Wusta governorates in all areas of the competition.


In sports commentary, Al Munther bin Salim al Khasibi from Al Bashaer Club bagged first place. In the field of popular poetry, the winner was Hamad bin Said al Mazrouei from Al Hamra Club, the winner in the field of chanting was Al Baraa bin Ahmed al Sayadi from Bahla Club, and the winner in the field of music was Khaled bin Ali al Qasimi from Bahla Club. Cultural competition (Omani women) winners were Ghuson bint Hamoud al Amriyah, Ashwaq bint Ahmed al Fahdiyah and Bayan bint Zayed al Amriyah from Izki club.


In theatre, the play by Bahla Club got first place and second place by Nizwa Club.
