Child protection panel examines Muscat Nights accident

The Child Protection Committee in Muscat Governorate held a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Social Development to find out the details of the accident that took place at the Muscat Nights venue in the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.


The children had suffered moderate injuries, and the committee communicated with the concerned authorities to ensure their safety.


The committee also stated that psychological support and counseling should be provided to the injured children and their families and wished for their speedy recovery.


The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority reported that seven children and a woman were injured due to the collapse of an electric toy game at the convention center.


Muscat Municipality expressed regret for the incident and stated that an investigation was underway.


The medical authorities referred those with minor injuries to the hospital for safety. There were no serious injuries reported.


The authorities urged people to seek information from official sources and not spread rumors.


They affirmed their concern for the safety of everyone and their commitment to following approved standards. They will announce the measures taken soon.
