Muscat Municipality is unveiling the details of Muscat Nights at a press conference, which is currently underway.

Highlights:

Muscat Nights is the largest entertainment, cultural and community event to be held in the capital.

The event will be held at four venues - Qurm Natural Park, Al Naseem Park, the Oman Automobile Association (OAA), and the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center OCEC).

Each site has a special schedule, activities, and shows to attract the largest number of audiences, and it will start on January 19.

Activities are not limited to entertainment, but rather go beyond promoting domestic and foreign tourism and supporting local industries by providing a space for social and cultural communication and exploration.

Technology will be used to book tickets and view the events schedule.

Activities of the festival were distributed in four locations to facilitate easy flow of traffic

The police will work to open alternative paths to avoid traffic jams while providing security support at event sites to ensure the safety of visitors.

A heritage village will be present in Al Naseem Park and will have a greater representation of the governorates this time.

To prevent traffic congestion in the Qurm area, the Muscat Nights event will be held limited to the lake and the surrounding areas.

Concerts will be limited to talented artists from the Sultanate only.

90% of the contracts were awarded to local companies for Muscat Nights.

Children under the age of 12 and people with disabilities will be allowed free entry to Muscat Nights.

There is a need to have a site that will accommodate the organization of similar events at any time of the year.

There is a need for a permanent site to hold a permanent festival, and we will make an announcement later.

It may be noted that Qurum Natural Park will be one of the venues of the newly announced Muscat Nights. The municipality also recently announced the closure of Al Naseem Public Park. Both these parks have been closed for preparations for the activities of Muscat Nights 2023, which will start on January 19 and continue till February 4. This year’s event will be a successor to the Muscat Festival, which was held in the capital annually since its inception in 1998.

The last edition of the festival was held in 2019 as the mega event was suspended following the Covid-19 related restrictions.
