Royal Cavalry finish second in Abu Dhabi race

Muscat: Royal Cavalry achieved second place in the fourth round competitions at Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club track, for purebred Arabian horses for a distance of 2,200 metres.


Royal Cavalry snatched silver medal through the horse 'Al Thraa', rode by jockey Qais al Busaidy, and supervised by coach Ibrahim al Hadrami, while 'Shamek' won the first place, owned by Yas Races stable, rode by jockey Patrick Dobbs, and coached by Jane Cloud, and 'Ab des Filates' claimed the third place, owned by Faten Ahmed Rashid, rode by Patrick Cosgrave and supervised by coach Omar Darraj.


On the other hand, at Al Rahba farm competition in Barka, the Royal Cavalry managed state title for the teams, and state title for individual through contestant Saif bin Hamoud al Ashkari. Oman Army team achieved the women’s title through Turkiah al Balushi, the International Academy for tent pegging team was able to snatch the wilayat title, and in the individual level, Sami bin Ali al Haddadi won the race.


The Royal Cavalry Team 1 won first place in the teams category, represented by Hamad bin Nasser al Riyami, Hamad bin Saif al Raisi, Safwan bin Zaid al Maamari and Saif bin Hamoud al Ashkari. Oman Army Team 1 achieved second place through Ahed bin Khamis al Balushi, Mohammed bin Khamis al Siyabi, Ali bin Khamis al Balushi, Zaid bin Hamoud al Saeedi, and in third place was Oman Army Team 2 represented by Khalid bin Amer al Habsi, Yasser bin Barout al Hasani, Hisham bin Ali al Bakri and Khalid bin Salim al Maamari.


In the individual level, Saif bin Hamoud al Ashkari from Royal Cavalry won first place, in second place was Khalid bin Amer al Habsi from Oman Army team, and Khalid bin Salim al Maamari from Oman Army team claimed third.


In the tent pegging competition, the International Academy team for tent pegging was crowned first, through Ali bin Saleh al Balushi, Humaid bin Saeed al Manouri, Khalfan bin Khamis al Rawahi and Nasser bin Saif al Hashimi, Bahla Stable team for tent pegging won second place, represented by Nasr bin Nasser al Mafraji, Ali bin Salim al Aghbari, Majid bin Saeed al Wardi and Yousef bin Salim al Shukaili, third place claimed by the Horse Committee team in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, represented by Sami bin Ali al Haddadi, Saif bin Ali al Jabri, Mohammed bin Amer al Jabri and Shihab bin Saeed al Shahumi.


Sami bin Ali al Haddadi from the Horse Committee in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi won the first place in wilayat individual level, while Nasr bin Nasser al Mafraji from the Bahla Stable for tent pegging came in second place, and the third place was claimed by Nasser bin Saif al Hashimi from the International Academy of tent pegging.


In the women’s competition, Turkiah al Balushi, from Oman Army team, was ranked first, in second place was Fatima bint Hussein al Balushi from the Oman Army team and the third place was claimed by Ghanima bint Abdullah al Shukaili from Royal Oman Police.
