OMSB, SQU ink cooperation agreement

Muscat: Oman Medical Speciality Board (OMSB) and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) signed today an agreement of cooperation to start fellowship programmes in various medical specialties.


The agreement was signed by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, CEO of OMSB and HH Sayyid Dr. Fahad Al Julanda Al Said, Vice Chancellor of SQU.


The fellowship programmes will be developed at the SQU Hospital based on specific standards set by the OMSB.


This cooperation aims to strengthen and develop cooperation in the field of training Omani physicians and grooming their skills.


SQU Hospital is one of the most important training centres approved by the OMSB to provide advanced medical training.


OMSB started subspecialty training programmes (fellowships) for specialized physicians as part of its endeavors in developing and expanding advanced medical education.


Moreover, the OMSB offered its first fellowship programmes in 2016 in the fields of adult general cardiology, medical genetics, otology and pediatrics hematology oncology.
