Fishermen Village design competition attracts 120 entries

As many as 120 entries have been received in response to a competition announced by Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) - the executive arm of the Sultanate for tourism development – for the design of a village for fishermen in Sirab Village in the Wilayat of Mahout, Al Wusta governorate.


Of this number, 85 met the criteria for participating in the competition, the deadline for which now stands extended to July 1, 2021, Omran said in a post on Monday.


The contest which is being organized by Omran Group in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries Wealth and Water Resources, has been open to fresh Omani graduates that are majoring in architecture and urban planning.


The participants are competing for three top positions, in addition to an additional incentive award. The first winning design will be taken for implementation stage on the ground in addition to receiving a financial prize. The second and third winners will be honored with financial prizes too.
