Winners of the ‘best visual advertisement competition’ for student companies have been announced. Under the auspices of the Zubair Corporation (Z-Corp), Injaz Oman had recently announced the competition, which was held as part of the ninth edition of the Injaz Oman’s Student Company Programme. In all, 40 students companies participated in this year's contest.
The ‘best visual advertisement competition’ aimed to identify the best visual advertisement for services and products offerings of student companies participating in the programme. It also intended to encourage creativity and communication skills among young people and highlight their power of visual communication. The competition intended to broaden the skills of students at universities and colleges in the field of marketing the products and services that they provide and stimulate their creative ideas by keeping pace with the modern world of advertising. The winners of the competition will receive a cash prize of OMR 300 and a glass shield.
The videos submitted by the student companies was evaluated by a jury represented by a number of experts from video and production industry in Oman including Muhammad Al Kharousi, a film director at Emaq, Muhammad al Jabri, a film director at Thawani Company, and Sultan al Qamshoui, a film director.
The criteria for evaluating the best advertisement included level of innovation and creativity. Interpretation, originality, clarity of the theme, quality of artistic composition and overall writing based on the product advertised were the other measures used to assess the advertisements.
The videos, which were put up on Instagram account on May 2, were also voted by the viewers for a period of three days.
Commenting on the competition, Khaula bint Hamoud al Harthy, Executive Director of Injaz Oman, said: “At the outset, we thank the student companies for participating in the Student Company Programme and the competition. We received lots of extremely creative entries for the competition. We were pleased to see the great level of innovation and creativity shown by the participating students. The focus of this competition included script writing, advertising plot, production, photography, sound recording, lighting, directing, montage, colour and sound effects. We would like to thank the Zubair Corporation for their support for the competition.”
