Al Buraimi: The Ministry of Heritage and Culture recently completed the renovation and maintenance of the forts of Al Khandaq and Al Hila in the Governorate of Al Buraimi. The move comes to emphasise the importance of the architectural heritage in the Sultanate, which runs from the far north to the south.
The project of restoration and maintenance of the fort of Al Khandaq started in May 2015, which is characterised by the existence of a trench in the external environment, and was used to defend it, which shows through the design of the diversity of architectural models in the Sultanate in different governorates.
The technical team of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture preserved the authenticity of the landmark and its identity in terms of the use of traditional materials and techniques for restoration. — ONA
