Oman-India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) has appointed Ahmed bin Said al Marhoubi as the Acting CEO of the company with effect from May 1, 2021. He takes over from Sharanappa G Gedigeri, who has been associated from the OMIFCO project from its inception.


A message from the Board of Directors said: “The Board has expressed its appreciation to Mr S G Gedigeri for his hard work throughout his journey with the company & wishes him success in his future.”


OMIFCO, which has been in operation for over a decade, is owned 50 per cent by OQ of the Omani government, 25 per cent by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO) and 25 per cent by Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO).


Located within Sur Industrial City, the OMIFCO plant has the capacity to produce 3,500 metric tons per day of anhydrous ammonia 5,060 tonnes per day of granular urea.
