MoHE issues new regulations for private colleges

Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education has issued two ministerial decisions the first one regulating study at the private higher education institutions during the suspension of classes while the second decision determining regulations for the teaching and evaluation of courses at the colleges of applied sciences (CAS) and Al Rustaq College of Education during the suspension period.


Ministerial decisions No 25/2020 states that the second semester and the summer semester at the private higher education institutions should continue by means of e-learning.


Ministerial decisions No 26/2020 has approved the completion of courses through the e-learning system at the Al Rustaq College of Education and the colleges of applied sciences (CAS) during the suspension period.


The Ministry of Higher Education emphasized the importance of developing the e-learning technical infrastructure for all the courses to ensure achieving the targeted student educational standard.


The ministry also directed the private colleges to readjust their internal regulations to ensure that the current period is considered as part of the academic calendar.
