His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on two state visits to the People’s Republic of China and Brunei Darussalam, starting today.

A statement to this effect was issued by the Diwan of Royal Court, the text of which reads as follows: "Within the context of addressing all means of promoting the relations of friendship and cooperation, and pushing them towards wider horizons in various spheres, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will go on two state visits to the People’s Republic of China and Brunei Darussalam, starting today.

The two Royal visits will touch on the various dimensions of cooperation and the opportunities available for enhancing and advancing them across multiple fields, to serve the shared interests and aspirations.

The economic, trade and investment relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the People's Republic of China are underpinned by a framework of agreements and memoranda of understanding that has established a basis for joint cooperation and expanded partnership opportunities across a wide range of sectors.
